My Humorous Monologue

So far what I learned In this project Is that there are many types of humor and most of the humor I had was inappropriate so I had to take a few roadblocks on the way. So the humor I have Is somewhat logical and sad. Luckily the jokes were acceptable to present so I have now learned a lesson by myself. This project also made me learn the process of iMovie In which I never used since my Elementary school. This Is the first time making my own monologue so thats the first for me also.

Pad Is the time between the start of the video to the actual starting of the scene or the ending of the scene to the ending of the video. Pad Is needed because when you start the camera It delays for like one second and If you have one chance to do something well your In trouble. Thats where pad comes In and makes sure you don't mess up like last time. Its very crucial and It Is more easy to adjust into your video and crop It into your taste or style. Its not just important to put pad at one side of the video but put It everywhere when your done with a line or a scene because shutting the camera to stop filming Is instant because of the video trying to process so many things at once.

My weaknesses In this project was thinking of pans of each scene. I thought for about two hours on good thought out plans for B- roll and finally I got It and the plans worked good because It was actually really hard because I had no one to help during filming or shooting the video. My other weakness was actually focusing on an object as It took me a while to figure It out... I had to manually do It which was time wasting. For the critique of this project It showed as I were developing and exceeding because some of my shots had a noisy background noise and I had that especially with the wind as I was shooting my monologue. Comedy Writing

Comedy Is one of the main characteristics that make people like you more or as a friend. Having a laugh can come In between things that are funny, makes sense, or just stupid that we have to laugh because how ridiculous somethings can be In life. Everybody laughs or to the people who don't we laugh at them to show how ridiculous they look or sound when denying laughing Is not fun or good, and thats why we laugh to how stupid It Is. Scaring people Is not just for the fear for the victim, It Is also for you to laugh at there reaction because we often don't see our friends screaming for bloody murder. Trust me It Is very funny! So having a good humor can really help on finding people you want to be friends with or stay with your friends when they are mad at you, and yes It Is very funny.

Five tips of humorous narrative are good timing like you cant skip a joke and go back to It In 5 minutes unless It has a story to go with the answer. You also cant have more then one character besides yourself because It Is a monologue. You also shouldn't cant have another visual except yourself In the monologue. Another tip Is to have your monologue remember because what If you are up on stage and you freeze. The last and most helpful tip Is to show emotion and see what joke Is a success and which one Is not because It a comedic monologue.

My comedic monologue includes a humorous and logical page to Its appearance as I talk about a shoe how It costs five dollars manufacturing and they add a logo to It making the price to sell over 50 dollars! This Is funny because we all don't realize how much money they rip us off on profits and we should often learn think twice on If Its a deal or not. Other parts of my monologue include a literal term of me literally hitting on a pile of jokes, you will understand more about this on my video being shown next blog post. Motivational Poster

For my motivational poster we were required a lot of rules and requirements to show the best quality each student can make. On our poster we are required to have three pictures of what describes you and one picture of your face. We also need personal quotes that we very cherish and more quotes to tell a better lifestyle. With those quotes we are kurning them to fit In the space we are provided In the photoshop document to show and remain no empty space or gaps. After that we have change our color of the text so that we can see the text because the background could make It not visible for me or others to see.

The process that I went threw the whole project was I had to find three valuable quotes that you live by and know by heart. The second step was to wright down quotes, feelings, or sayings that represent what we do. So the week before this project we had homework to take pictures of what represent you, with the photos I took including a self-portrait I had to fit four picture to make the back ground layer for my text. After that we had find text colors to see the text over the picture because a black texture Is camouflaged In the background. We also had to show text effects to make the words stand out even better then It's color pack. Now back to the pictures we had to put layer effects to make It look like one color and It made the background more colorful and visible to see, And thats It. In life simple things can show a lot of meanings and uniqueness.

The hardest challenge I had was finding the right colors to be visible to the picture because most of the colors looked like they were mixed In the picture and Is bad because how else would you see the words! The other challenge was fitting the pictures In to show no open or blank space In the picture. It was like a puzzle! It was like "finding Waldo" because most of the time there was a blank space to cover. So overall I needed a lot of help but a conclusion came to a success. I would rate this project a 8/10 because I really enjoyed the outcome of what I believe Is "Fine Art"!

Personal Manifesto

Hi am Nathan Gardner, returning student of G.T. at Kapaa Middle School, and owner of this blog. I love basketball, and going to the beach with my friends. I enjoy competitive eating and love to play Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare. My future dream Is to genetically modify or to make an ancient dinosaur just like Jurassic Park or Jurassic World (By the way the best movie ever!). I know It seems unlikely to happen but I wish for all evidence to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Some quotes that I am going to live by this year are "Know yourself, know your worth", "No alarm clock needed, my passion wakes me up" ,and "Yesterday was history, tomorrow Is a mystery". I chose those because those explain what I believe In Is being humble, like how all my friends say "Stay humble, no grumble". Last year was  the hardest and the worst year for me and I don't want to go threw that again so I am going to listen the best I can this year because last year I was always off track. My goals for this year also Is getting a perfect attendance and a 4.0 grade average.

Well to relate to you guys (audience) on this project majority of people heard of Drake the rapper and In my manifest I have a quote from him which Is "Know yourself, know your worth". I chose that quote because having a certain level of experience of a certain should tell where you belong like In a sport or a class. In life we have at least say one quote that you respect more than any other saying and I personally love that quote more then any other quote! I have other quotes I listen to and believe In but I live on what I can like you know, I have freedom! For the final product Im expecting a really image for the class to look at.

Music Videos Rock!

Each member In our crew did an equal share and part to this project by doing our personal assignments for the movie. Each of us In our crew decided to share It amongst who Is better at doing one thing. So my part was doing some filming and especial my mastery at editing In iMovie. The others In the groups are Tyler Pagela, Leilia Panui, and Logan Noble. Tyler got some footage of the skating stuff and we didn't land any tricks but we are going to edit to look like we did land the trick. Leilia did most of the filming and yet she still has to lip-sync to her part. Logan did most of the planning to the storyboard and lots of lip-syncing! So pretty much we are on the right track to a finished music video!

The best part of our music video that people will most likely enjoy or laugh to Is when we take the meaning of "Kick, Push" too far! On that scene Logan will be doing that exact thing to me which looks really funny and how we took several shots of that, put In all different angles. Also now we made some more better shots of lip-syncing now and we have increased so much videos that we did make some mistakes so maybe there will be some funny bloopers. During this project the team didn't communicate that good but until now we got better. Some really good things about our team Is that everyone was equal into the work well put In. It was a fun school year and my last year of G.T so our team did our best which Is all that matters.

What we learned this year was really important to understand what was wrong and what was right. So like threw out this year we have composition techniques and rule of thirds which you will definitely see on our music video! We also learned some new ways or paths to do things the right way like In our music video we couldn't get our lips matched with the some but Mr. Sanderl showed us the black space which creates a motion of timing so you could put your lip-syncs anywhere you wanted on the music video. So our main focus to our story Is not to give up and when you fail you learned another way what not to do, which will be very helpful In life. So I hope you liked my blog this year and this Is my last goodbye forever. Thank you G.T!

Lyrical Livelihood

My favorite song Is groovy and has a good beat and has a great vocal I think because the way the artist sings Is unique. My favorite song Is "Trap Queen" (by Fetty wap) and one cool thing I think that he Is blind In one eye and that he can sing and read with that one eye! Another song I like Is "Blessed" (by Kanye west, Big Sean, and Drake). It tells how they rather be at work than a vacation and them saying "I came here for a good time not a long you know I, I never had a good time In along a time you know I, Im way up I feel blessed .etc". So the creators of the song are three big hits In the USA so the song came along really great.

For our group song we have chosen "kick push" by Lupe Fiasco. The song Is a good lyrical song and how It's gonna be easy to dance to and sing, luckily he doesn't know how to rap. The song Is about skateboarding tricks, like when you do a kick flip you kick, or whip your foot at the board. Push In the song  think mean when you do a heel flip you push off your foot, or kick with your heel. The song also includes a good long 90 seconds of good lyrics and besides 1 minute of just saying "Kick push". So for our music video sense we don't know how to do skateboard tricks we are going to hire our friends to do the tricks for better looking then us trying to skate, or we will cut out scenes and put them together to make It look we landed the trick.

The visual story we are going to tell Is a skate boarding movie I guess, and maybe we will have good funny bloopers. So In the beginning will be a person skate boarding and he will fall and cry and run away as the song says and goes. But the song means as "kick push" means stroking or peddling harder to go away from a place where you can't skate, so kick push Is riding you skateboard away or somewhere else In the song. In the middle the 10 seconds of kick push would be Logan kicking and pushing me of two separate of that happening to poor me. Then we are going to have lots of lip syncing from our whole team which Is Logan, Leilia, me( Nathan), and Tyler. So at the end a scene of a boy and a girl ask to be together, then to the end which Involves a ton of bloopers and special guest star Nellizza! So thats our movie plan for this project and then we will be keeping updated for next weeks blog post about our final edition of our own music video!

Our Animation Story

For our animation story "Nathan Rescues Marine life" we have planned our focus statement by having a plot so we could understand the the theme. Our stories plot Is Chazz and he creates the plot by littering and putting trash In the oceans of the pacific, by this we can relate and make a hero for the theme of "Picking up your own trash". In our story we have chose three different kinds of animation, 1.) STYKS 2.) Photoshop 3.) stop-motion. The hardest one was the photoshop one because It takes awhile to move 3 things at once for one shot. Some scenes done with photoshop was the beach scenes and the car scenes.

The main lesson for the audience was to not litter and to pick up other trash In the community. We made this the most clear thing on our presentation because pollution these day Is killing our planet earth. Some other main ideas for making a good movie was technique. We did have a hard time doing the stop motion at first but we got the hang of It. Some roadblocks for the team were staying still for both photographer and characters. One bad thing for us when we were behind and with bad scenes we had to stick with the scenes because It was too late to re-do them.

The worst moment for me as a teammate was when you wanted to help but the team wont let you. For some people In the teams problems was not doing the work fast enough and not working together to get a better finishing result. Threw this whole team process this seemed like this was the hardest project by far from all the other GT assignments! For us we learned from our mistakes and struggled to not have enough tie but the last week our team had there game face on like we were doing three scenes at a time and we got It finished on time. So the last thing I want to say Is help your team at any point and say you could do something, and not wasting there time wining, and just like me I did this blog writing when we were done the whole time.

Animation Outtakes

For our new 4th quarter assignment we have gone the path of animation and other similar like It. We are now learning how to make Gif's. Making a gif In your perspective seems to be a video but Its not. A gif Is a motion of pictures made to make videos but In stop motion. To make a proper gif each picture or slide should only be 0.1 seconds so like If you make a 100 picture gif, It would be about 10 seconds long. For a beginner like myself, I chose to bounce a ball because Its only one movement In all the frames.

On this project we will be making animation videos of stop motion and that's It! We will be making an animation movie and ours Is me saving marine life from by helping the community with the trash and littering problems on Kauai. Our plot Is putting the people who litter realize what can happen and what Earth Is gonna look like In the future. The story Is owned by my solution on Chazz because his play Is to be a tourist and he makes poor choices to litter. Most parts of our story Is done by the magic of photoshop and our fingers to make about 500 or more pictures to make our animation of a minimum of 60 seconds!

The story Is actually about the community and Its problems of over polluted trash on the grounds of our one of a kind island. Also on this island we have hazardous winds some almost all the trash on the ground blows Into the ocean and other life such as marine life. Our main message to the viewers Is to "picking up your own trash", which means don't litter. On this set we had some wacky moments like doing a scene that you will see on my next blog post. Some wacky facts about my teammates were there option to roll down a hall way at any point of the movie and to just randomly start dancing, and the answer Is we are some awesome crazy people. Typography Images

TYPOGRAPHY PORTRAITS are a way of photography which needs a portrait words that describe yourself, and the words match on you making look like a biography on a person but a layer. For me I think Is a cool way to express yourself because you show anything you want on yourself In letters and they can make a unique of art. In school I am making two typography portraits one for my math teacher and a two an old inventor of history Benjamin Franklin. I think this can affect me and most artist In a way how to try a new tech way of art which can show off new paths. Its hard to do this but when Its done no one would regret It, because you can make It any style you want! So In a way we are INNOVATORS!

The biggest challenge I had In this project was the KURNING because my text were really messed up and It took awhile to get It In one collage of words. The other main challenge I had was getting the picture In OUR requirements and this project did take awhile because getting the words fit In the shadow and be fading away depending how dark the section Is. To overcome the issue was actually really simple and It was to go back to the tutorial we took and finding the blank spaces that we had In our portraits. This project seems like It takes more steps to make more than any other project we did, and was hard to memorize step by step, but we have no option to stop so we have to keep on going no matter how good or bad you think It Is because there Is always room for improvement. So for my final practice It looked cooler than I thought It would be, the words perfectly lined up as the portraiture angles.

For my share In my work made to be done, I had to make three Typography photos. One was dedicated to my favorite man that fell down In history. Two a picture of a teacher, which had to be with no shaded color but an outline of the face In bold visible colored words. Three I had to make one of myself and this one was the hardest of all. We had to follow thru one of my most confusing tutorials yet! I didn't have much help besides my super smart neighbor, but somehow It took me the less time of them all and I think that because I have finally gotten the steps thru me like blood. Then my last steps not from the others was to tricky and It was to double check. It was a good
project while It lasted but It was not nice to me or others.

Double Exposed Portraits

Portrait Photography Is a photograph of a person and his profile and In that case Is why Its called a portrait. Photography Is a work of art that people make with a camera to take pictures with. When doing a portrait there are two profiles, one on the the person and the silhouette. When taking the pictures Its hard to have a good lighting on the person and there also has to be something special or right about the background, even If Its a flat color or a rule of thirds with the person. Making the rule of thirds Is the photographers part because he can move the camera angles at all times so It can be just what he needs for a portrait. For rule of thirds there Focal points which means the portrait has to look onto leading lines for perfection.

Made and produced and photoshop means lots of steps and skills but a tutorial will do you good. First up you need to take about two-three photo's, one picture has to be based on a profile and then the other two are a foreground or a unique pattern that could literally match on your head! Next up upload photoshop and and go to file, scripts, and then load files into stack. From there you use the dodge tool that kinda hidden and outline your profile and 100% opacity. After that you would have the other photo's of a pattern and use the blend tool= "command-D". From there bars of options should appear and the picture Is all yours to play with and suit what you like. To make one would not be good news but we have to so the process has been pretty cool to me at least.

Im my last two project finals I think I did ok because I went threw the requirements and used some and I also broke the rules a bit so It my my needs not the teachers, and as he said Its good to break rules but have the requirements needed. They turned out good and on my second one It was my best one yet because everything was right about It In my head. On the first one was a school practice which was a blend of leafs, and a tree. My second blend was a skate park and a basketball hoop, which In that case both of those pictures represent my life In adventure. So for a final swished It and won In my game, and I am happy with what I got!

HDR Photography

HDR photography Is short for High Dynamic Range, It Is used for pro photography levels. It Is used for photographers because the human eye Is better then the cameras, so we adjust It the right way to stand out. We use It to find the right colors and for this reason Is why I like It because you can change It within your choice. This way of photography which Is hard but when you get the hang of It Its actually pretty awesome. For me I like It but Its a long process of the making to the final step.

To create a HDR picture step by step you have to take seven pictures, but with those seven pictures you adjust the brightness and the darkness. On each picture you take seven pictures and have one picture on the brightness and the darkness like this; -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3. Then once you import the pictures on to the computer In one document you can open photoshop. In photoshop In file, automatic, and merge to HDR you should then get the pictures and move on. From there they give you options on the photo and then what I do Is play with the adjustments and see I like and think what people will like.


For my last to projects with HDR I had to take four-teen pictures, but seven for each requirement. The two pictures had to be of 1.) A Landscape and 2.) A Portrait. I did the portrait first because I needed to be done what Is the hardest, and It took me several tries but I got It at last. The landscape pictures seemed harder because I didn't have a tripod, but I found my spot of focus and did my best to stay still. To turn It In on time was also hard because I had to use my dads camera for the project so he trusted me on taking the memory card with me so I could get my credit on time. This was a cool and unexpected project and Im glad I did It.

Movie Trailer Critique

For the final "exquisite" critique, we weren't the best, but we weren't the worst. For us to make this movie trailer we grew a few gray hairs of stress, but It was complete at last. For me I always have a backup plan to succeed as for my crew too. We did not have the right scenes and especially no editing done a week before the critique. We had to have our "A" faces on and 110% focus on what ever we needed to finish for the video. Our team of four which was me-Nathan, Leilia Panui, Ethen Garrison, and Shanden Matsushima, we truly did fine with the deadline, and the ratings overall. The movie had Its own way of going on In the setting. For our planning It worked out as planned but could've had more B-roll.

Our requirements were to have a movie poster, a video clip longer then 1.30 minutes and shorter then 2.30 minutes long and not
including slide of text or other, and was to turn It In on time. We needed Five scenes, text lay-overs, foley, dialogue, and It to be acceptable to 1st graders. Our team did succeed to finish the video but we missed the opportunity to turn It on time. From that loss we had a maximum of one point erased to our original one. From the ratings It did not compare It was only the students rating us as a way to give tip about what you do, or any other case. Our average rating from my classmates was a 3/4, which Is a good thing to know because you passed. Added to our grade the rating were added the right way to our teachers opinion and we were a success! We could've made It longer but we made the best of It.

The results was not only good for us... because our whole class succeeded. From these results It really showed that the people enjoyed It and had fun making It to! This assignment was a surprise due to our major change of teammates. We had to learn to work together because four brains are better then one. As for the team there Is always room for improvement, and more B-roll or any other of these helpful tools, we did It, but not 100%. Our team really tried, we had funny moments In our shooting of the fights. We had fun and thats all that mattered beside our lost In the evaluation. Now that we know even more, that Its never enough and to push the limit.

Movie Poster Promo

In my movie for G.T. Is Big Hero 6, and this has many main characters but the one that Is Bay max, the movie super hero. His abilities are taking commands after what his master says ''  Hiro ". He was started to be a killing machine hero but had no experience, although Its a robot It has human traits and has to learn his unit of doing his job which Is fighting off villains. He Is always with Hiro, because he would be lost and confused on his own. They are usually In session with training and trying harder to there final success. Each time they train or do something there Is always a twist to show a character trait or something funny.

Our title explains Bay max because there was a strarting Five heroes but now there are six with Bay max and he Is the six hero and the sixth threat. So for our poster Each person In our group, ( Leilia Panui, Shanden Matsushima, and Ethen Garrison ) has to make our own designed movie poster for our project and the best one Is gonna be the cover for our exclussive video commercial from us about Big hero 6. In our video for our poster the best option Is to do Kenburns effect which Is the best and novel way of showing our poster on screen. Another way of a better movie poster Is kerning, which Is moving to letters and words so It fits the best and looks well organized. Having a good poster Is good advertisement to the movie and the makers of the movie. Anything we put In It has a reason even If Its just a layover or any other technical requirement.

The overall impact all the details on the layer effects, filters, and text layover worked out to be the finest I or my team could do, but I could see a misplace to be fixed or be better. Our finished poster Is and looks very well detailed and well organized with all the lay overs and the effects we have chosen threw out the process. These details on our poster well inform of the way the movie plays and which direction the movie flows with. The poster Is an image that when Hiro Is creating and making Bay Max In the way Hiro wants Bay Max to coordinate In. Every way the movie plays there Is a twist but It has effects too.

My Visual Poem

My Poem was a named swiflty for a reason... and that reason Is It has a Its momentum In Its own difficult way. It had many good visuals for Its own sayings. I am very proud that I did this less then two weeks and had every detail needed. The visuals really did a big impact on the story and looked great, but all of them in a flow of sound and pictures look the best! But as always there are always ways to improve.

My special effect made It look good but I needed more of It. I also added sound and made a big improvement with the words and pictures. My voice wasnt as clear as it could be so i did mess up a little. The mood is good showing of nature showing us what it does and what it can do, i find it really creative! Everything had a cause and effect moment, this proves I can do a fine job In a hard set up.

I am satisfied that I could actually do this amazing oppurtunity for us to compete In! We have all made one and thay are all so good! But there has to a winner... I dont think it was mine though. This person had this experience before and i didn"t so I did have trouble with the wright material. This had been the most simplest movie project we had so far In GT, and sense Its by yourself, It Is also hard.

Finished News Story

My groups final edit was published and was great although we didn't win we had a good time filming and making our master piece. It showed us how to not give up and keep on trying new ways to get better and better footage. Our parents also helped out fro helping us getting to places we need to go to for our story. The story was about a skate shop In Kapa'a, Kauai, Hawaii that has a business like no other.

The owner of the shop "Cameron Lovelace" was kind enough to let us make a news story out of his shop and how the shop started to become a success. It turned out great! We had great footage of the shop and products and even some of the sponsored skaters of the skate shop. We interviewed a sponsored skater too to feel like what It takes to be on the team and how to get better and not to give up when your at your limit.

To conclude on our ratings we were upset that we didn't win but we had a nice piece of art to contribute and compete in the tournament. This was a good topic to pick and we are glad that we picked It. Overall we need to learn more about the camera life but we also have to make mistakes to learn It the right. And we also learned about the business also so we have learned for our tutorial and so there Is more to come.

Real World Report

For this post we have to share a real life news happening in this world. For my subject I have picked a sports news article of a NBA basketball player that signed a 5 year contract for $70 Million dollars, this man is Eric Bledsoe. Sense the team that picked Bledsoe "The Phoenix Suns" made the offer the team now has the best three guard rotation in the NBA.

I say this can be a career winning team sense that trade now! The team was good already but they needed an extra boost and Bledsoe Is that boost that they needed! I hope I get to see this team in the next playoffs finals! With three star players on the team they are ready for action!

For non-Basketball players Its ok not to like the sport but watching It Is amazing! All the hard work the players do to be In the NBA paid off, and now when you see them play there athletic skills they are great at what they do. The suns actually have a good chance of winning this year! For these years the motivation was down and there spirits have really raised up and pumped about there new teammate! There coach now has been catching on to the players too so thats an extra boost for the team.

HikiNo Behind the Scenes

For my group HikiNo project we are interviewing the one and only skate shop owner Cameron Lovelace. He Is the owner of the Yesi skate shop. He has a wide collection of skateboards, wheels, barring, and stickers. From shipping to the Mainland to the Hawaiians Islands Is expensive so he has to make sure he has to sell his products affordable for the people Kauai. So far we had taken good footage of the shop and we have a great interview with Cameron.

Behind the scenes when the camera Isn't rolling we have to discuss to our team when we are gonna meet again for more B-roll and footage. We have a notebook for interviews so we wont forget what we are gonna say In the interview. We have downloaded all the footage we have so far into a computer. Once Its in the computer we go straight to transcribing the B-roll footage. We have make sure the footage Is usable so If we mess up It may disturb the owners job.

One way I can help my team is to make sure to grab the wright footage and usable footage for a perfect grade. When this project Is done we will send It to a TV channel and If we have the best HikiNo video our video has a chance of being on television, and also its a hard challenge because we are competing with other schools to be on television. We wont be going easy on the others! We have all the tools and skills to be on television and the guts to prove that we are the best In the island!

"The Experiment"

These Prompt assignments we do are from our awesome knowledgeable teacher Mr. Sanderl. These assignments aren't so bad because it can help our writing skills. Some bad things about these assignments are: having a computer because its too hard on a phone but as i said its good for my writing skills.

This picture had me puzzles to figure how to do photoshop. He just left us free in our imagination to figure new ways! We had to discover the mixed puzzle as one. Lucky for for me i have a nice partner that share advice about my "Experiment" I had some road block on the tools and diagrams but at once it was finished! This master piece of mine is now finished! This is my logo for a uncharted hacked game i play. It has no advertisement but i guess now it does!
